Weekly Reflection

This week I attended the Mindset Programme which is a 6 week programme which allows you to gain knowledge of ways that you can help someone who is emotionally unstable and different approaches you can use to cope with your emotions and struggles you may be experiencing. This programme has already taught me alot of different and useful techniques which I am able to use personally and can also use to help others. Making our community a more positive environment is something I'm passionate about and uplifting my peers in a more efficient way is something which is also very important to me as it is crucial for me to try my best to help and support them as best as I possibly can.

What has gone well was learning different breathing techniques and meditating methods which helps with calming the mind and focussing on different thoughts other than the ones you may be struggling with. I look forward to sharing the knowledge I gain with more people and spreading awareness about coping mechanisms that can help everyone, if i am able to help one person out of the few that are struggling then I'd feel proud and my next step will look towards helping more. The group that is apart of the programme is a group which I refer to as all my friends and I am privileged that I get the opportunity to learn with them and hopefully grow a closer relationship with them during the programme and also outside of the programme.

Weekly Reflection

As we are half way into this term, my focus has been directed towards completing my assessments and preparing myself for externals which are held next term. As always, a priority of mine is completing my tasks and concentrating in my subjects.

Last week I dedicated alot of my time in completing my assessments. What went well, was being able to achieve and gain 3 excellence credits from one of my subjects which I worked very hard in. This is a personal achievement for myself and it allows me to see progress into achieving my overall goal which is endorsing this year. By gaining these excellence credits, it has pushed and motivated me more into working hard in my subjects to make my long term goal, reality. By putting 100% into what I want to achieve It is possible for me to overcome it. I look forward to seeing my progress throughout this year.

Weekly Reflection

This week, one of my main focuses and objective was to complete all given assessments from each of my subjects. To achieve this goal of mine, hard work and dedication had to be put towards completing my assessments to a standard which I am happy with and which I am capable of doing. Exceeding expectations is a standard which I look towards fulfilling and endorsing with a Merit or Excellence this year, is a long term goal that I look towards achieving.

What went well for me this week, was concentrating in my classes and working hard towards passing my assessments with a Merit. Geography is one of the subjects that I am currently taking this year and I've been working at a level which is preparing me for the External exam that is coming up. I've been focusing in class and have been aiming to finish my work to the best of my capacity. What has also gone well has been wearing correct uniform everyday of this week. This has been an issue in the past but I am beginning to realise the importance of representing our school in a positive matter. Showing good examples by completing assessments and wearing correct uniform are all great ways of demonstrating leadership abilities and in the future I aspire to be a leader which can present these attributes.

Thank you,

Term 1 Reflection

Reflection- what did I learn during this topic

During this topic I learnt a variety of interpersonal skills that I can use to help me when participating in an activity within a team or individually. An interpersonal skill that I demonstrated during this topic was cooperation although I didn't cooperate as much as I am able to I still participated by standing with my team on the court or field. Effective communication is an important interpersonal skill because in order to score a goal as a team, you have to communicate with each other to let them know what the best move is to get to the goal.

Interpersonal Skills in PE

Log 3- How i didn't demonstrate cooperation

Statement:
On Thursday during our game of modified touch, I did not demonstrate the interpersonal skill, cooperation.

Explain:
I didn't demonstrate this interpersonal skill by not communicating with my team and not contributing to the game as much as i needed to. I did not participate as much, which made our team have a disadvantage with numbers in our team, against our opposition. Instead of cooperating with my team I sat on the bench and didn't contribute to the game.

Outcome:
The outcome of not demonstrating this interpersonal skill was that our team found it more difficult to score a goal because of the lack of team members we had.

Interpersonal Skills

Log 2- Cooperation

Statement:
On Thursday during the game of modified touch, I demonstrated the interpersonal skill cooperation.

Explain:
I demonstrated this interpersonal skill by participating and helping my team try to score a goal. Our team spread out on the court which gave us more of an advantage of scoring. We talked to each other by telling each other where to go on the court and reassured each other that quick passing was the best idea for trying to get close to the goal.

Outcome:
The outcome of this interpersonal skill was that our team prevented our opposition from scoring a goal. Working together we spread out and defended well.
